GENERATIVE FX & CLOUD
FX opens on four knobs that play the whole sound. Then everything flows into a large reverb with shimmer, and FREEZE holds what is in it, without end and without darkening.

GENERATIVE FXLink to this section
FX opens on GENERATIVE FX: four knobs that play the whole sound rather than a part of it. SWELL is the hand’s; SPARKLE, BLUR and SINK belong to the sound, and a scene keeps them.

| Knob | What it does |
|---|---|
| SWELL K1 | Every drone voice swelled, as far as it is turned, and held there. With ENV held or CC 11 too, the most of them wins |
| SPARKLE K2 | Glints play by themselves, now and then, on the notes the drones hold: GLINT’s OCTAVE up, one in three an octave more, soft and short. From a few a minute to about six a second. Nothing held, nothing |
| BLUR K3 | The drone dissolves into the cloud: wetter (SPACE toward 90 %), a longer decay, more diffusion and modulation, the glints further into the cloud |
| SINK K4 | Everything goes under: a low-pass on the whole mix, from 12 kHz down to about 120 Hz, with a small resonance (2.4 kHz at 25 %, 800 Hz at 50 %) |
An LFO can move SPARKLE, BLUR and SINK too (see The LFOs).
The cloudLink to this section
WARMTH (a soft saturation) feeds CLOUD, the reverb: an 8-line modulated network with diffusion in its loop, a pre-delay, a pitch-shifted shimmer inside the loop, and FREEZE. Its tail runs from 0.4 to 60 seconds.
The drones flow into it; so does GLINT, by its own SPACE (GLINT DELAY, K4), and its delay’s echoes. BASS stays out of it, but for a little SPACE. The MIXER’s CLOUD fader is the reverb’s return.
Its pagesLink to this section
Press FX again after GENERATIVE FX for CLOUD, then CLOUD II, CLOUD III, PUMP and PUMP II (see Pump). FX is bright on its pages.

| Page | K1 | K2 | K3 | K4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CLOUD | SIZE | DECAY 0.4 s to 60 s | TONE how long the highs last | FREEZE OFF, ON |
| CLOUD II | DIFFUSION | MODULATION | PRE-DELAY 0 to 200 ms | WIDTH the tail’s stereo width |
| CLOUD III | SHIMMER | INTERVAL +12, +7, +5, +19, −12 | BRIGHT the shimmer’s brightness, 700 Hz to 8 kHz |
FREEZELink to this section
Hold FX, on any page, for FREEZE, or turn CLOUD’s K4; the page stays. The cloud holds what is in it, without end and without darkening. Nothing more goes in: what you play next sounds dry over it. Off (FX held again): it thaws, and fades over DECAY. FX stays bright while it is on.
On the screen, FREEZE sets the crystals into a lattice and stills the water, and the header shows FREEZE while the cloud is held. On the logo screen, FREEZE stills it all.
Over MIDI, CC 80 freezes the cloud at 64 and up.

Room to breatheLink to this section
If the sound crackles or a voice drops out, FRASIL is lowering its load on its own: fewer voices, or SHIMMER at 0, give it room. GLOBAL’s header shows the load.
