Guide 14 / 16
MIDI
FRASIL takes MIDI over USB and the TRS input. Each track has its own channel, whatever the keys play.

ChannelsLink to this section
The drones on 1, GLINT on 2, BASS on 3 by default. Press GLO twice for the MIDI page: DRONE CH, GLINT CH and BASS CH, each OFF, 1 to 16 or OMNI.

NotesLink to this section
- The drones’ notes go through the harmony, so a sequencer’s single note plays a chord. Sustain (CC 64) holds them. Channel pressure swells them all (SWELL).
- GLINT’s notes play as they come: no scale, no octave added. While the arpeggiator or the sequencer is on, they go into it, as held keys would.
- BASS’s notes play as they come too, one at a time: the last one sounds, and letting it go brings back the one still held under it.
Notes sound only while held. Polyphonic aftertouch swells a note; channel pressure, the whole track.
CCsLink to this section
The sound’s CCs, and sustain, come in on the drones’ channel (1 by default). 123 releases the notes of the track whose channel it comes on; 120 (All Sound Off), on any channel, lets everything go and stops the sequences, as PLAY held (hold PLAY again: RESTORE).

MIDI learnLink to this section
Turn a setting, hold GLO, and move a knob on your controller (a CC on the drones’ channel): from then on that CC turns that setting (CC 21 · SINK). FRASIL learns 8 at most, the oldest replaced, and keeps them with the settings. A learned CC comes before the table’s (SWELL’s 11 and FREEZE’s 80 too), but for 64, 120 and 123, which keep their jobs.
Program ChangeLink to this section
Program Change 0 to 15, on the drones’ channel, loads scenes 1 to 16, as SCENES’ MORPH and LOAD say (see Scenes).
ClockLink to this section
MIDI clock drives GLINT’s arpeggiator, its sequencer and its delay, the bass’s sequencer, and the LFOs set on the grid. Start resets the grid, starts the sequences (GLINT’s, the bass’s) from their first step, and puts those LFOs back to the top of their turn. With no clock coming in, PLAY does the same when it starts the transport, or is held; while one comes in, PLAY leaves its beats as they are.
